Connectivity comes via the state-of-the-art Hylas 2 satellite, launched from the Guiana space center in 2012. A communications satellite that features 24 active and 6 gateway Ka-beams delivers high-speed data services across Northern and Southern Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Steerable spot-beams allow extra capacity to be directed where it is needed most, and help ensure high-availability and low cost Satellite Internet services even in the most remote of areas.

Hylas 2 is also more powerful than earlier satellites, bringing 5 kilowatts of power into play. This higher output provides the power to "push through" bad weather and almost eliminate problems like 'rain fade' that plague lesser systems.
